It all started with one beehive...

And, it was in Minnesota...and it was vertical! A lot has changed in the 5 years since we lived in Minnesota. We got married. We bought a little place in Arkansas. We retired. We started pursuing our hobbies and those hobbies have turned into small businesses. We bought a store and workshop space. 

We lost both our hives in Minnesota and when we started beekeeping here in Arkansas, we decided to try horizontal hives for our bees. We knew we weren't getting any younger and those boxes weren't get any lighter, so  we took the plunge and built that first horizontal hive from plans we found online.

That first hive led to the modifications and additions and features that are now included in the product list on this page. Since that first hive, we've built more hives for ourselves (we now have SIX!), hives for local beekeepers and hives for a retail store in Russellville Arkansas. 

We now carry 3 different-sized hives and accessories for all of them - including proprietary essential oil blends for bees that I've developed to reduce diseases and pests in the hive using natural essential oils.

The Beehive Shop will be open for visitors starting in late January. And, classes to learn how to use "Long Langs" will start in April. We hope you'll stop by and see where we build our "homes for bees".
